Freight Document Processing for Carriers and Brokers Skip to content

Bills of lading, rate confirmations, proof of delivery.

For carriers, brokers and dispatchers. We read the paperwork that comes with every load, line it up against the invoice, and show you what is unbilled or unsupported.

We start with a short workflow review and one document type. No system access needed to talk it through.

What we read

What load paperwork can you turn into data?

We read bills of lading, rate confirmations, proof of delivery and carrier packet documents, and turn them into one record you can check. Every load produces several documents that disagree in small ways.

01 · BOL

Bill of lading OCR

Reads shipper, consignee, pieces, weight and signature status, and extracts handwritten in and out times where legible.

02 · Rate con

Rate confirmation data extraction

Pulls rate, free time, accessorial terms and special instructions so they can be checked later.

03 · POD

Proof of delivery processing

Captures delivery time, receiver signature and exceptions, ready to attach to the invoice.

04 · Packets

Carrier packet and onboarding documents

Insurance certificates, W-9 and authority documents, with expiry dates flagged.

Matching

How do you check invoices against the paperwork?

We compare each freight invoice with its rate confirmation and flag fuel surcharges, accessorials and totals that do not match the agreed rate. Money is lost where documents are not compared; a person compares them when there is time, and we compare every load.

01 · Invoice audit

Freight invoice vs rate confirmation

Flags fuel surcharges, accessorials and totals that do not match the agreed rate.

02 · Detention

Detention billing support

Compares free time on the rate confirmation with arrival and departure times from the BOL, and lists loads where detention may be owed but was not billed.

03 · Disputes

Evidence for deductions

When a broker deducts a fine or holds payment, assemble the signed POD, rate confirmation and timestamps into one file.

04 · Packets

Invoice packets

Bundle the invoice, POD and rate confirmation for submission to a broker or factoring company.

Common questions

Before you send a sample

Can you read handwritten BOLs?

We read handwriting with a review step for anything unclear, so a person confirms times and signatures before they are used to bill.

Do you replace our TMS?

No. We feed structured data into the system you already use, or into a spreadsheet.

Is detention always recoverable?

No. It depends on your contract terms and the proof you have. We show where the documents support a charge and where they do not.

Have you done this for freight companies before?

Our shipping and logistics work to date includes manifest and tracking automation for manufacturing. For freight paperwork we start with a workflow review and a small sample set.
